もちろん、単にタバコが好きだったってこともあるだろうけど彼女達にとってタバコは都会的でスタイリッシュ、かつ社会に対する反逆心をみせつけるアクセサリーのようなもの。
そして何より、彼女達は「新しい自由」を追い求める快楽の開拓者。
独自の女性像を時代に逆らってでも手に入れにいく。そんなパワフルで貪欲、知的な女性たちとイコールで結ばれたタバコ。
私たちの日常生活のどこかに必ず登場して、
その場をぱっと明るく華やかにしてくれる植物界の善人。

たった一瞬の快楽のために求めた女性と、あたかもその弱みに漬け込んでいったかのように 、魅力的な姿で誘惑したベラドンナ。
この駆け引きは、両者ともに”毒”がなければ成り立たたないの。
美しくなるためにどんな痛みや損害も恐れず、自分を守り抜く頑丈な盾のような毒を持つ女性と、その女性の盾をうち壊そうとする鋭い矛のような毒を持つベラドンナ。
植物も人間も、美しさの奥にある”毒”が、より一層魅力を引き立てるの。
