ついこの間、2月22日より行われている「FACE2014 損保ジャパン美術賞展」に入選したという、元バイト仲間の素敵な報告をFacebookで知ったの。

 

今回は、新しい環境下への転機に大忙しな日々を送るアーティスト藤森詔子へのインタビューを紹介させて。

 

When I was scrowling my Facebook feed last week, I found a brilliant post of my old parttime colleague that she has won a prise for the “FACE 2014 sonpo japan art exhibition”.

 

Today, let me introduce the interview for the artist Shoko Fujimori, whose getting ready for her new start!

 

 

 

入選おめでとう！これからは、何する予定なの？

 

ー助手になるよ！ちょうどこれから忙しくなるんだ。

 

Congratulation for your prize! What are you going todo from now on?

 

ーI’m going to work as an assistant so will get busy!

 

 

 

そうなんだね、今日はありがとう。

さっそく作品を見させてもらったんだけど、よく登場する弓矢とやハートには、どんな意味が込められているの？

 

ーバレンタインデーとかによく聞く”ハートを射止める”っていうでしょ。それって、そのまま表現したらハートを弓矢で射止める図になるけど、ハートって心臓だから、心臓を弓矢で射止めることになるのかなって。

けど、人間は脳みそで物事を考えるから、最終的には脳みそを弓矢で射止めることになるんじゃないかなって思って。

 

あとは、昔の作品の延長上で、

未来の医療が発展してハートを手術できるようになったとき、それだけでハッピーになれたらいいよねって考えた作品も多いね。

Okay let me start, I saw all your amazing works.

And I realized that there’s many shapes of haerts and arrow. Does it have any meanings?

 

ーYou know the phase “shoot the heart”, the one you especially use on valentimes day right. When you imagine it, there will be this heart shaped thing struck by an arrow.

But in real, heart is one of the organs so I imagened the real heart struck by an arrow.

Moreover, we think with our mind not with the heart so I came up with the last one, the brain struck by an arrow and thougt this might be the real meaning of that phase.

 

Other hearts, I drew them as an extension idea of my old works. If the medical technics grow and becomes able to fix our heart, don’t you think there’s no other easiest way to become happy?

 

 

 

作品のテーマはどうやって決めるの？

 

ー自分が考えていることをかいつまんで、かいつまんで決めてる。

何が当たるかは、誰にもわからない から、自分に嘘をつかないで、自分の信じているものを作り上げて発表していってるところ。

自分の考えと、それにあった時代がピッタリ回ってきてくれるのを待つ感じだね。

 

How do you decide the theme?

 

ーNo one knows what people will like so I just believe in my thoughts and keep drawing and showing them.

Then there will come the right timing when it’ll be accepted.

 

 

 

好きなアーティストは？

 

ーダミアン・ハースト。あと、黄金虫を敷き詰めた絨毯だったり、とにかくクレイジーな作品を創るヤン・ファーブルとか、ジェフ・クーンズかな。

 

Who is you favorite artist?

 

ーDamien Hearst. And the crazy artist Yang Garbul who made a carpet filled with scarabs rides, and Jeff Coons too.

 

 

 

ファッションの分野にも興味があるっていってたけど、どういう風に？

 

ー最近ファッションブランドのディスプレイ・ウィンドーに注目しているの。

ウィンドーの中にいるマネキンは、ブランドごとのテーマに基づいて華やかな”制服”を着せられているでしょ。

無機質だけど都会的で洗練されてる。どこか東洋人のナショナリズムとリンクしてるなって思う。

ファストフードの店員さんもみんな同じ制服で笑顔浮かべていてマネキン的だよね。

人間の二面性のあるマネキン的な部分に興味があるんだ。

ちなみにシャネルのウィンドウが一番好き！

 

You told me you are interested in fashion, can you tell me how?

 

ーRecently I go see the display windows of fashion brands. And there’s those mannequines all dressed up in their “costumes”. Its ignorant but urbanized and refined. I think it somehow links to the nationalism of Orientals.The waitress of the fast food restaurants are like manequines in that way, wearing same uniforms and putting a big smile on their face. Im interested in the two-facedness of humen beings which is simmilar to the way manequinnes are.Oh by the way my favorite window is Channel!

色彩の攻撃性を活かした刺激的な作品を生み出すアーティスト藤森詔子。

 

東洋人独特のナショナリズムに注目し、装置やコスチュームが人間へどのように影響を与えるかを独自の視点で捉え表現する彼女の作品は、ユニークで不穏、大胆でもありどこかもどかしさも感じさせる。

 

ファッションの分野にも挑戦したいと語ってくれたアーティスト/元バイト仲間の彼女の今後の活躍に高期待！

 

An Artist Shoko Fujimori creates stimulating works with offensive colors by pursuing the thoughts,

emotions and the two-facedness of us human beings.

 

Her works which remakes on the unique nationalism of Oriental and expressing the effects from machines and costumes on human beings created by her own perspective, are unique but disquieting, bold but impatient.

 

I am so looking forward for this artist / my old colleague’s next step!
