11月5日、ロンドン西部のシェパーズ・ブッシュにある音楽演奏劇場シェパーズ・ブッシュ・エンパイアで行われた
MS MRのライブへ行った。
彼らのパワフルなパフォーマンスに圧倒され、ライブが終わった後も彼らの音楽に取り憑かれたかのように、頭から離れない独特なメロディをずっと口ずさみながらバスに乗り、宿泊先のホテルに戻ったのを覚えている。
MS MRは、ニューヨークベースのチル・ミュージックデュオグループ。
見た目はレトロでポップなスタイルの2人だが、彼らの創り出すミュージックはダークでミステリアス、どことなくエキゾチックでありオリエンタルでもある。
その独特な雰囲気を更に醸し出すのが、彼らのミュージックビデオ。
チアリーダー達が赤と青のグリッターを勢い良く嘔吐、パステルカラーの液体がどこからと溢れ出しどろどろ垂れ流れたり、テレビの前に座っていた少年がテレビに吸い込まれたり。

On November 5th I went to MS MR’s live which was held at the historic music theater Shepard’s Bush Empire in Shepard’s Bush, west side of London.
I was overwhelmed by their powerful performance and kept humming the melody stuck in my head on my way back to the hotel as if I was obsessed by their music.
MS MR is a New York based chill music duo.
Contrary to their pop and retro presence, their music is dark, exotic and oriental at the same time.
Their music videos are also unique and mysterious.
You’ll get to see cheerleaders vomiting red and blue glitters, thick pastel color liquid flooding all over and a little boy sitting in front of the TV gets sucked into the TV.
