「女の子のポートレートを撮るのが好き。ここに写ってる子達はみんなわたしの友達で、知ってる顔で、思いどおりの写真が撮れた。だからこの展示はすごく好きな感じに出来たの。」
会場には日本独特の空気をモニカ視点で撮ったものや女の子のポートレートが並んでて、BGMには前日にいっぱいダウンロードして作ったという日本の歌手梶芽衣子の楽曲をチョイス。
「その人のその時その表情を残す、撮る事ってすごく大事だと思う。そう！悲しいと思うのは、ちゃんと自分のその時の顔を残そうと思って撮る写真って学校で撮る写真とかだけじゃない？だから今回来てくれた人たちのポートレートを撮ってあげたいなって思ってワークショップをする事にしたんだ。」
開催中は、彼女が主催するオンラインのセレクトショップ「TROUBLE PEACH」のミニショップも登場したり、モニカにポートレートを撮ってもらえたり、18日(土)にはクロージングパーティも予定。
ぜひ足を運んで滲み出るモニカらしさにご注目して。
“I like taking portraits of girls. All of the girls in these photos are my friends, the faces I’ve known. So I could take photos and make this exhibition the way I wanted to.”
At the exhibition, you can see photos of Japanese uniqueness taken by her viewpoints and portraits of girls with the BGM of Japanese singer Meiko Kaji, which she downloaded a lot the night before the opening day.
“I think capturing one’s expression of that moment is really important. Like, it’s a sad thing that theres not so many chances to take photos of it other then during class at school. So, I thought it will be great if I take photos of everyone who come here and that’s why I’ve decided to do a workshop.”
During the exhibition, there will be a small shop of TROUBLE PEACH the online select shop which she owns, a chance to be taken photo by her. Also, a closing party will be held on the 18th.

超キュートな友達、モニカ・モギをご紹介。
アメリカのアーティスト集団「Ardrous」に所属し、自身もモデルで活躍する傍ら現在21歳でAmerican Apparelアジアのヴィジュアルを手掛けるフォトグラファー。
2014年1月10日から21日まで原宿にある「ROCKET」にてそんなモニカのフォトエキシビションが開催中。

I would love to introduce my lovely friend Monika Mogi who is a member of an American artist group The Ardrous, a model, and a photographer of American Apparel Asia at just age 21 years old.
Her photo exhibition is being held at ROCKET in Harajuku, from January 10th to 21st.
